A new term with FORESTed on a Higher level!

The new term has been as busy as ever with PPA cover, After School Clubs and enquiries from new schools.

One exciting event that occurred recently, was delivering a Heritage Skills day session on the history of fire for Newcastle University’s Archaeology department. This was held at Jarrow Hall in South Tyneside.

Groups of undergraduate and post-graduate students were introduced to the theory of fire making, humanities history of fire making and a practical activity to start their own fire!

The session ended with Professor Haynes reading from Beowulf by the light of a wood fire in the Great Hall at Jarrow Hall.
